Broadcasters and distributors have agreed on a new TV standard: a common technical specification for program signaling. This standard makes it possible, among other things, to keep the electronic program guide continuously up to date with the actual broadcast times. Viewers can also fast forward and rewind more accurately. For broadcasters, the new program signaling offers the opportunity for personalized advertising, for example aimed at certain regions or target groups.
