Maaike Martens has a leading role in the new film by Johan Nijenhuis. It will be the first major film role for Martens, who previously appeared in the theater in De Marathon and Hema: the Musical. For the latter production, in which she played Queen Maximá, she received a Musical Award for best leading role. Nijenhuis decided to ask Martens after seeing a scene in the series De Luizen Moeder, in which Martens' character Ursula is afraid that her child will receive a disappointing surprise, after which she smuggles a bigger and nicer surprise into the classroom herself.
