Three films in which Dutch people are involved have a chance of winning an Academy Award. The statues will be awarded on the night from Sunday to Monday. Dutch cameraman Hoyte van Hoytema has a chance to win an Oscar for his camera work in Dunkirk. It is the first time in history that a Dutch person has been nominated in this category. Director Alex Rüger of the Van Gogh Museum is at the Oscars for Loving Vincent, a contender in the best animated film category. The Frisian make-up artist Arjen Tuiten is the third Dutchman in the race for an Oscar for his work for Wonder.
