In England, a man who stalked BBC presenter Emily Maitlis has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for violating a previously imposed restraining order. Maitlis presents, among other things, the current affairs program Newsnight. Maitlis was once friends with the man in question, but he harassed her for decades afterward. A restraining order was granted in 2009, which the man violated twice in 2017. He was sentenced to 45 months in prison for this, the BBC reports.
