Netflix will release approximately eighty films in 2018. The streaming service wants to equalize the scale on which it offers films with series production. Content director Ted Sarandos said this during the presentation of Netflix's quarterly extras. Sarandos explained to investors that these are films with varying budgets, but that there are certainly also major films. According to Variety, he mentioned The Irishman, Robert De Niro's film with a budget of 46 million dollars (39 million euros), as an example of such a well-known film.
