The returns of the second Blade Runner film in the US are disappointing. The sequel grossed $31.5 million in its first weekend. Experts had predicted that the film would gross almost double that in its first four days. The proceeds are compared to the large number of theaters where the film is shown, the enormous marketing campaign and the positive reviews. In the Netherlands, Blade Runner 2049 raised 675,000 euros in the first weekend, which is equivalent to around 70,000 visitors. In addition to Sylvia Hoeks, who plays the female lead, Dutch actress Sallie Harmsen also has a crucial supporting role in the film.
